Who We Are

MIE Solutions is a leading provider of production control software for the entire manufacturing sector.

The software, MIE Trak Pro, incorporates Estimating, RFQs, Work Orders, Purchasing, MRP, Stock Control, Costing, Scheduling, Reporting, Optional Shop Floor Data Capture, Shipping and Logistical Control, and a full Accounting module, which can replace or work alongside many third-party accounting package(s).

MIE Trak Pro is a market-leading software for sheet metal fabricators, precision engineers, and discrete manufacturers. It can be adapted to incorporate any manufacturing process as required, and offers a complete solution for the entire business. General Manager

Bill Haynes

Bill Haynes is the General Manager for MIE Solutions. Haynes joined the business in 2024 to lead the MIE Solutions operations and is responsible for developing and executing the strategic, operational, and financial plans that drive the profitability and growth of MIE Solutions.

Prior to joining MIE Solutions, Haynes was a Vice President for Forterro’s Abas business unit where he led Abas operations in North America. Before Forterro, Haynes worked for companies, such as Allied Solutions, Consona Corporation, and Aptean (formed with the merger of Consona and CDC Software). While at Consona/Aptean, Haynes was part of a leadership team that grew annual revenue from $30 million to just under $200 million.

Haynes also spent several years in supply chain management, designing and implementing simulation-based manufacturing scheduling systems for Fortune 500 companies. Haynes also spent more than 5 years as the Production Manager for a job shop that supplied the Aerospace industry.

Haynes brings more than 25 years of technology/software experience to MIE Solutions, with extensive experience in the manufacturing and financial services industries.

Haynes has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.

Principal Architect and Founder

David Ferguson

David Ferguson has over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing and fabrication industry. He has assisted hundreds of manufacturing companies over the years, helping and guiding them to be more efficient and cost-effective. Prior to founding MIE Solutions, David worked with his father at a sheet metal shop that his father was shop floor manager of. His journey into the world of manufacturing software began in his teens and continued as he partnered with METALSOFT, Inc. to sell and support his own quoting and costing software to many small- to medium-size sheet metal fabricators.

David Ferguson has his Masters in Computer Science and Mathematics from California State University, Long Beach. In 2007, alongside business partner, Donald Clutter, they started MIE Solutions to continue helping manufacturers and job shops become more efficient and profitable with the use of MRP/ERP software, specifically, the MIE Trak software.

Today, David and the team at MIE Solutions continue to develop and maintain the MIE Trak Pro software, supporting hundreds of companies world-wide.

Don Clutter

Don Clutter has over 34 years of experience in finance and management in the manufacturing arena. Don worked for Stokely Van Camp, CE Beaumont (a division of Combustion Engineering), was Controller of Houston Processors, was Corporate Controller of All American Gourmet (a $700 million division of Kraft Foods), and was CFO of VSI Fasteners. With a BS in Business Management from Indiana University and an MBA from Butler University in Indianapolis, Don works alongside David Ferguson to help manufacturing businesses maintain efficiency and profitability with the use of MIE Trak Pro.

Don is an invaluable resource for MIE Trak Pro users, as well as the internal staff of MIE Solutions, utilizing his 40+ years of experience and expertise in Finance and Cost Accounting. Job shops and fabricators alike have received hands-on support from Don Clutter and the team that he and David built from the ground up.

Today, Don continues to assist MIE Trak Pro users and entire organizations, providing business consulting services to many long-time and new customers of MIE Solutions.

David Ferguson, Jr. creates the Quotelt estimating software to help manage his father’s workload at his sheet metal shop.

FabriTRAK Production Control Software is created and licensed to MetalSoft, Inc. — a company later purchased by Amada America.

David Ferguson, Jr. takes back control of FabriTRAK to continue its development, thus creating MIE Trak and founding the MIE Solutions company, alongside Co-Founder, Donald Clutter.
